How Much is Lincoln Wheat Penny?

The value of a Lincoln wheat penny varies. It depends on the year, grade (condition), and if it was circulated or not. For example, in my ebay shop I have many coins that are "Almost Uncirculated" Lincoln Wheat Pennies (AU) - small trace of wear visible on the highest points.

If you just find a penny laying in the middle of the street, chances are is that it is scratched, dirty, worn, and practically worthless.

Lincoln Wheat Pennies and Grades

Lincoln Wheat Pennies are the most interesting and historical coin to collect. However, the sad fact is that many pennies have been in circulation for so many decades that they are scratched and damaged. A poor condition Lincoln Wheat Penny isn't worth much. Check out my Lincoln Wheat Pennys store for excellent quality pennies. I carry Lincoln Wheat Cent 1909 thru 1958. AU, BU, MS RD, Rolls, BU Rolls, AU Rolls Graded, slabbed. 1943 Lincoln steel, 1943 D, 1943 S.

I am not a coin grader, so when I indicate a possible grade this is simply my opinion. The truth is that anyone with magnifying glass or good eye can get a good idea as to the neighborhood of the grade of a coin. In general, the better the grade of a coin, the higher its price. I have a no questions asked return policy with a full refund.

Low-budget coin collecting

Coin collecting is still the #1 traditional hobby in the United States, and it's easy to start, and to get your kids involved, too.

First, collect all the coins lying about in your house- you may find a winner. Don't worry about if it's worth anything- just start with whatever strikes your fancy. To prevent you coins from getting scratched or dented, but them small paper envelopes before you put it in a nice box.

Go on the internet, and check out the different coin types (the year is the most imporant), and check out a flea market or mall for plastic albums designed for a series of coins, like pennies. Like baseball card and stamp collecting, it helps to store your coins well.

Eventually, if your collection starts to get big enough, start an inventory of your collection, using your computer or index cards. Stop by one of my ebay shops for affordable Lincoln Wheat Pennys.

What is the Lincoln Wheat Ears Cent (wheat penny)?

The Lincoln Wheat Ears Cent (also called a Wheat penny, a Wheatback, a Wheat Head, or a Wheatie) was a United States coin produced from 1909 to 1958. In 1959, the wheats on the back of the coin were replaced with the Lincoln Memorial.

If you are looking for great deals and more info about these pennies, check out my two Lincoln Wheat Pennys ebay stores: Lincoln Wheat Pennys and Steel Lincoln Wheats.

When the Lincoln one-cent coin went into circulation in 1909, it was the first regular coin to bear a portrait other than Liberty. Previously, the general public had been against using portraits on coins in the United States, because monarchies did that, but public sentiment won out due to the 100th anniversary celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birth.
